It was essential for Kirq to establish its first hub in Sherbrooke to anchor itself within its rich quantum computing ecosystem. The region hosts numerous organizations dedicated to quantum technologies, from research to industrialization. This ecosystem will become vital in the ambition to develop a quantum internet by connecting quantum computers together. We have therefore been able to open sites at the University of Sherbrooke to engage with the research community, at Distriq to be at the heart of the quantum innovation hub, and at Exaion to directly involve part of the private sector in the testbed.
